AXIS Event Solutions crystallised out of almost two decades of serving the events industry. Starting out as an event equipment rental company in the mid-90s, Downing Event Hire quickly expanded into an innovative, bespoke approach to developing eventing solutions. Alf Downing’s ‘never say no’ attitude and desire to answer each client’s individual needs meant Downing Event Hire became something quite unique: an event company that offered a range of services under one roof.
In 2020, Alf stepped down and the family business was continued and taken into the next generation by Marc van Galen. The company, which was already the go-to event hire specialists for a range of different clients, became AXIS, a single point of excellence, streamlining the whole event process for clients.
